In the past few months the 3rd and 4th grade children have taken time to read and ponder the account of Creation in Genesis 1 and 2 as well as the account of the Fall or Sin in Genesis 3. The 4th through 6th graders have look at Genesis 6-9, the account of the Flood. After reading through these chapters we took time to lift up important people, places, things, and events. Then we brainstormed "parallels" in the moment of Redemption (Jesus through today) and Parousia (the moment we are still waiting for).
Here are the thoughts of the 3rd and 4th graders on the account of Creation...
Creation "Let there be light" Adam is the first man from the earth Garden of Eden Spirit hovers over the water Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil Eve | Redemption Jesus is the Light Jesus is the New Adam from heaven Jerusalem Jesus' Baptism, Jesus walked on water, Epiclesis True Vine (Virtues and Sin) Mary | Parousia God will be our light All will be like the new Adam Heaven Heaven and earth filled with the Knowledge of the Lord True Vine in its fullness Mary, Queen of Heaven & Earth |
