The gifts of God surround us each and every day, in every moment of our lives. So often, however, we walk past that beautiful sunrise or drop of dew glistening on the grass or tune out the captivating song of a bird. Some of the children took time to pause and look and listen. Here are some of their lists of gifts for which they are thankful.
One of the "At Home Review" suggestions was to draw a liturgical calendar either from memory or from a previous calendar they had made in the Atrium and now had at home. Here are a few examples of their work from children ranging from 2nd grade to 5th grade. One of the "Prayer in the Home" suggestions for the children included choosing a saint to research and write about. They were also invited to consider drawing an icon or symbol synthesizing the saint's actions or life. Here are a few of the saints which the children chose to enjoy during their time at home. While the children were away from the Atrium this spring, many of them continued to make time to listen and speak with God. This summer I will be sharing some photos of their work in the home. They found ways to make time and space to grow in love of the one who loves us first. I pray we will all continue to do the same throughout this summer!
