St. Paul wrote many letters encouraging others to keep their eyes on Jesus, living well for Him by loving others well. The Second Reading for next Sunday’s Mass comes from St. Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians. Find this letter in your Bible and read the passage listed above. He says, “Do everything for the glory of God.” We have talked about how the fruit of the branches on the True Vine gives the Vinegrower glory. What kind of fruit is your branch bearing? How could you bring God glory today? What is one new way you could work to remain close to God so that you might bear beautiful fruit?
Level II and III The True Vine (John 15:1-12) At the beginning of the year we looked at the Parable of the True Vine. As we are approaching Lent, the season of preparation for the great feast of Easter, it is good to set aside time to examine, again, our branch on the Vine. Read John 15:1-12. How can you remain close to Jesus this Lent in a new way? Can you find some extra time for listening for him in His Word or in silence? Is there something that you enjoy (food, toy, activity) that you could set aside to make more room for Him in your day? Is there a way you could love your family or classmates better this Lent? Choose one or more ways you would like to remain closer to Jesus this Lent and write them down, making your paper beautiful, and placing it in a place where you will see it each day this Lent. |
