Level I (Children's House): The Model Altar What do you see on the altar table? What do the paten and chalice hold at Mass? The crucifix reminds us that Jesus invites us to this feast. When we light the candles we remember, "Jesus died and He is risen!" Perhaps this week you would like to draw a picture of the altar table and beautifully decorate it for the season of Easter. If you are a writer, maybe you would like to label the items you have drawn or write a prayer of thanks to God. | Level II/III (Elementary): The Liturgical Calendar The Liturgical Calendar reminds us that the whole year is centered around Jesus. Right now we are just beginning the celebration of Easter. Did you notice how long the Season of Easter and the Cycle of Easter are? What does that tell us? Maybe you would like to think of a way to draw a Liturgical Calendar, perhaps with an image for each season. How could you continue to celebrate Easter each day of this "Great Sunday?" |
The Mass is the greatest way in which we, as Christians, live out our relationship with God. It is where we receive the best gift, Jesus, and it is where we respond to God with praise and thanks for all of His many gifts, especially for the gift of Jesus. Comments are closed.
