The verses for next Sunday's Responsorial Psalm actually come from the Gospel of Luke. Read Luke 1:46-55 to hear Mary's song of praise to God, a song we call the Magnificat. Our souls also rejoice in God! Write your own prayer of praise, listing the good things God has done.
Level II (1st-2nd) The Visitation (Luke 1:39-45) Read what happened just before Mary sang her Canticle of Praise to God in Luke 1:39-45. Read also, Isaiah 7:14. Do you think Elizabeth knew this prophecy? Do you think it helped her to recognize Mary as the mother of the Lord? God's Word is such a great gift! Take time to copy Isaiah 7:14 and draw the Visitation. | Level III (3rd-6th) Baptism Isaiah was called by God to be a prophet. On the day of your baptism you were anointed with Chrism while the priest prayed, "[God] now anoints you with the Chrism of salvation so that you may remain as a member of Christ, Priest, Prophet, and King, unto eternal life." To be a prophet is to listen deeply to God and speak His message to the people. Write about how, when, and where you listen for God and share His message with others. |
