In the Gospel for the Second Sunday of Lent we will hear about the Transfiguration, when Jesus revealed Himself in all of His glory to Peter, James, and John on Mt. Tabor not long before He entered the City of Jerusalem for the last time. Read the Alleluia verse which helps introduce the Gospel, written above. Does this remind you of another Scripture? What do you think the Father was telling the apostles who were with Jesus in this moment? What might He be telling us? Copy the verse above and then draw this Scripture.
1st-4th The Eucharistic Presence of the Good Shepherd The Father calls Jesus His beloved Son. We, too, have the gift of being called His children. From the Good Shepherd parable we know that when the Good Shepherd calls His sheep, they follow Him. We also know that He has called us to the Church so that He can feed us with the very best food and drink, the Eucharist. How strong is the voice of the Good Shepherd? How far does it reach? Who all is He calling and inviting to the feast? Draw an image of the Church with people from all over the world and all times represented. God is so good to us! | 5th-6th Abraham Typology: Genesis 22:1-19 The First Reading for next Sunday should be familiar to you. Take some time to reread this passage and make a list of ways this chapter from Genesis parallels the life of Jesus. When we worked on this together each of you tried to come up with ten of these examples of typology. See if you can again come up with ten parallels between Genesis 22 and Jesus. Choose one of the ten to illustrate, showing both moments (Abraham's life and the time Jesus) in one picture. |
